IT IS WHOYOU KNOW…

We are “ Babies” in the wedding industries, and I am realizing quickly the importance of GREAT vendors. I have had a lot of fun meeting new people in the industry. Some of these professional are seasoned wedding experts. The knowledge and creativity these folks bring to the table is priceless, I would like to pass along the names to you of some of my new friends and colleagues as they are vital in making your biggest day flawless and worry free!

Apple Spice Catering – Wonderful food, professional service and the price point is great! Debbie and Rudy are professional and knowledgeable, and a delight to work with.

Décor with Distinction – Flowers, Coordination, and Décor. Richards vast network of contacts is priceless and his work is the best I have come across in the industry!

Cherry Blossom Florals – Flowers. Kiyoko’s talent is astonishing, she is very creative with her medium and develops one of a kind custom arrangements, not to mention she is absolutely delightful!

Raphaels – Lighting, tables, chairs, flatware and more. Raphaels has everything you can imagine, a vast array of items and a beautiful show room to boot.

These are just some of the Professionals I have had the pleasure of working with, and you can meet them as well at our October 27th Octoberfest Bier and Food Tasting open House. The festivities start at 5:00pm – and will close at 9:00pm.

Here we are on our third open house. The first two were a great success, and as I become more entrenched in the wedding industry events, more and more people are talking about Villa de Flores. I am so grateful to those who set us up at lighting speed. Sean DiAnda with Design Syndicate created an elegant logo, and put together a stunning brochure and website, along with helping out with the marketing ideas for Villa de Flores. Robbie Frans at dinning details introduced me to twitter which has been an excellent marketing tool. Fontaine Ho and Julie Frans at dining-details have included us in photo shoots for Exquisite Weddings Magazine (watch for it in stands in the next few weeks) and will be including us in there new adventure Privileged which takes place at our site in the near future.

I have met, and continue to meet exceptional people. Mark with Windmill Banquets and catering provided the delicious food for our third open house, he is a true gem! We had so much fun that we decided the next open house will be a Wine Tasting Event held in the evening on August 25th from 6pm-9pm, be sure secure a space at this one. I have to tell you, the property is absolutely stunning at night, the beautiful chandeliers hanging from the trees, you can’t get much more romantic then that!

Thank you all for welcoming us into the wedding biz with open arms, we are thrilled to be associated with such exceptional professionals and proud to call them friends! We are so excited to be able to share our property with all of you!

Open House Event

We held our first open house on Wednesday the 27th of May, it was so much fun we have decided to have an open house on the last Tuesday of every month. It was very nice to have the opportunity to meet new vendors and showcase our property.

Fontaine Ho with Dining-Details provided appetizers that were enjoyed by all. I had the pleasure of making my “perfect lemonade” and lavender mint shortbread cookies, a recipe I found on dining-details website, and modified slightly (mint instead of rosemary). Everyone loved the cookies, and my husband gobbled down the leftovers the next day.

We met several wonderful event planners, florist, photographers and bakers. Everyone loved the property, and lingered in the gardens for several hours. Hearing all the positive feed back has really energized all of us at Villa de Flores and we are excited to host many more events.

Villa de Flores’ first event

We held our first wedding on Saturday May 23rd, and it turned out great! Tom and Judy had the property looking magnificent, and finished the new pavilion in time for the wedding. It was a perfect day, the sun was shinning (rare lately) and there was a slight breeze in the air. The day began at 10:00am and didn’t finish up until around 2:00am in the morning. Whew, what a day.

The vendors were outstanding, I don’t know how we were so fortunate to have such fabulous people working at our first event. Kate Capshaw of Resolusean headed up the affair and was absolutely incredible. I would recommend here highly to anyone planning an event. Organic Elements did an unbelievable floral display for the tables, that complimented the surrounding landscaping perfectly. Dining-Details arrived later in the day to prepare a most scrumptious meal for the guest. I was amazed at their professionalism, and they left the area cleaner than when they arrived. The photographer Suzanne Hansen was wonderful as well. Abbey Rentals, was in and out with little impact to the garden. The next morning the yard was in pristine condition, and you would not have guessed, there had been a wedding there the night before.

In closing, I was thrilled with our first event and had a wonderful time. I enjoyed all the wonderful comments about the property, from the guest. I over heard comments such as “ I thought this wedding was going to be at a private residence” and “ this place is amazing, it feels so good here”. It warmed my heart to see the guest enjoying the property I grew up on, and have so many wonderful memories of. I can’t wait for the next one!
